Twitter has named Ged Tarpey as Managing Director of Global Media & Entertainment, placing him in charge of the social media giant’s relationships with studios, networks and streamers. Based in Los Angeles, He will report to VP of U.S. Client Services JP Maheu, Deadline.
In his new role, Tarpey will lead oversee the company’s efforts to build partnerships with entertainment companies like movie studios, TV networks, and streaming platforms as well as companies in the publishing, sports leagues and sports betting arenas.
Tarpey initially joined Twitter in 2012 and most recently served as the sales lead for U.S. media and entertainment. Prior to joining Twitter, he spent six years at Microsoft where he worked with with movie studios as a global account director.
Maheu took to Twitter to congratulate Tarpey, , “Congrats @ged - couldn't be happier to have you taking over the leadership of our critical Media & Entertainment business! with @jenP heading our Content Partnerships and @Ged our M&E business, our future is bright!”
