Alphabet, has revealed its latest robotics venture, Intrinsic, as well as its leadership. At the very top, the tech giant has entrusted Wendy Tan-White as CEO of the unit that has been spun out of its X moonshot laboratory. The company also revealed that Torsten Kroeger will serve as the newly independant venture's CTO.
Cloud data platform Splunk announced a string of new additions to its senior leadership team on July 15, all effective immediately. Among them are Sendur Sellakumar, SVP and first-ever Chief Cloud Officer, Claire Hockin, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer and Garth Fort, SVP and Chief Product Officer.
Marqeta has added Randy Kern to its executive team as the modern card issuing platform’s new Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Marqeta, Kern was a Salesforce executive and held the Chief Customer Technology Officer and EVP of Infrastructure Engineering roles throughout his seven years at the company. He also spent several years at Microsoft.
Boston-based software development app provider Appfire, has named Jagdish Chugani to its executive team as its new Chief People Officer. Prior to Appfire he served as the SVP of Talent at PlanSource and served as a member of the Human Capital at UnitedHealth Group.
NBCUniversal has appointed John Lee as the media giant’s Chief Data Officer within its Global Advertising & Partnerships division. Lee is a data veteran and joins NBCUniversal from Merkle, where he served as Global Chief Corporate Strategy Officer.
Abercrombie & Fitch has named its first-ever Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Samir Desai, to lead its digital transformation. Desai joins from private fitness club Equinox, where he also served as CTO.
Former Shopify executive Tyler Nemiro is joining Fabric as its new VP of Enterprise Sales. The hire comes after the startup raised $43M in Series A funding in February.
Zapata Computing has revealed that Jeff Huber will join its Board of Directors. Huber is a former SVP at Google and was the Founding CEO of cancer screening company GRAIL, which has raised $2 billion to detect cancer early in the blood using genetic sequencing and data science. While at Google, he helped develop and scale its Ads, Apps and Maps applications. He also notably helped lead the formation of the Google X lab.
Cybersecurity startup KnectIQ announced that Anna Harrington will be joining its leadership team as COO. She perviosuly held senior roles at financial and consulting firms, including Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Promontory Financial Group, and Accenture's predecessor, Andersen Consulting.
