Sony Pictures Entertainment has a new leader for its domestic and international TV operations which includes over 70 programs worldwide, like Jeopardy!, The Crown, and Shark Tank.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has a new leader for its domestic and international TV operations which includes over 70 programs worldwide, like Jeopardy!, The Crown, and Shark Tank. The company has announced that Ravi Ahuja has been named Chairman, Global Television Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment Corporate Development, effective March 15, 2021.
In this expansive new role, Ahuja reports to Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra and will lead the studio’s domestic and international tv production, game show franchises, and its India business. Alongside Vinciquerra, Ahuja will also oversee Corporate Development and M&A activities.
“Ravi is an extraordinarily talented and proven executive with broad experience in nearly every aspect of our business,” Vinciquerra said in a . “Having worked directly with Ravi, I have seen first-hand his strategic, results-driven approach which has made him such a strong leader, and which I know will lead to further growth and success for SPE. His decision to come to SPE is a testament to the studio’s strength and ability to attract great talent.”
A former Disney exec, Ahuja was a key figure in the merger between Disney/ABC Television and Fox Networks. Following the merger, he served as both President of Business Operations and CFO of Walt Disney Television. Before that, he served as CFO of the Fox Networks Group. Prior to joining Fox in 2007, Ahuja served as CFO for Virgin Entertainment Group, worked at McKinsey & Company, and had a career in investment banking. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Roku.
