SoftBank Vision Fund Leader To Exit In Late 2021

Deep Nishar, SoftBank’s Senior Managing Partner for the America’s and the sole Senior Managing Partner for the company’s Vision Fund, has announced he will depart at the end of the year.

Deep Nishar, SoftBank’s Senior Managing Partner for the America’s and the sole Senior Managing Partner for the company’s Vision Fund, has announced he will depart at the end of the year.

Nishar didn’t disclose his next move and SoftBank hasn’t yet named his successor. Whispers of Nishar's potential departure were first reported earlier this month by Bloomberg.

The veteran tech executive has been with Softbank's investment unit since 2015 and has overseen 36 investments (including its bet on Slack), which have resulted in 8 IPOs, 2 M&A and 2 SPACs to date.

Prior to joining SoftBank, he had spent almost six years at LinkedIn, where he served as SVP of Products and User Experience. Before that Nishir worked at Google for five and a half years as a Senior Director of Products.
