Ola, a ride-hailing and micro-mobility company, has announced that GM veteran Jose Pinheiro will serve as the Head of Global Manufacturing and Operations for its burgeoning electric vehicle business.
Pinheiro, who will lead all efforts related to the India-based company electric vehicles, will be in charge of building a string of electric scooter manufacturing facilities across India. These facilities, which will include the worldās largest scooter factory, will enable Ola to produce its lineup of two-wheeled vehicles that have been under development since it acquired Amsterdam-based electric scooter firm Etergo earlier this year.
To accomplish this monumental task, Pinheiro will lean on his deep industry experience as a long-time GM Vice President in charge of manufacturing for General Motors Latin America. Based out of SĆ£o Paulo, Brazil, Pinheiro oversaw the regionās network of 16 GM industrial facilities spread across 9 countries.
