Hewlett Packard Enterprise has selected Fidelma Russo as the company’s next CTO to help sculpt its tech roadmap and manage the development of its edge-to-cloud platform, called GreenLake.
“Fidelma brings deep expertise in cloud services, software, and infrastructure built on an extensive career in technology,” HPE CEO Antonio Neri . “Her diverse experience makes her distinctively suited to drive innovation as we accelerate our transformation and bring differentiated solutions to the market.”
The 30 year tech veteran joins HPE after serving as SVP and GM of VMware’s Cloud Services business unit. Before she joined VMware in May 2020, Russo had been the CTO and EVP of Global Technology and Operations at Iron Mountain. She also brings a wealth of experience from senior leadership positions at Dell EMC, HP, and Sun Microsystems.

Russon takes over in the wake of HPE’s of cloud data management and protection firm Zerto. The July deal is meant to expand GreenLake and help HPE Storage transition into a cloud-native, software-defined data services business.
