Condé Nast Names Jackie Marks as new CFO

Marks previously worked as CFO at Mercer, one of the world’s largest human resources consulting firms. Before that, she spent 15 years at Thomson Reuters working in various different leadership roles, including CFO of Reuters news and editorial and most recently CFO of enterprise technology.

Jackie Marks will join the senior leadership team of Condé Nast as Chief Financial Officer, effective She will be the first female CFO at the company.

Marks previously worked as CFO at Mercer, one of the world’s largest human resources consulting firms. Before that, she spent 15 years at Thomson Reuters working in various different leadership roles, including CFO of Reuters news and editorial and most recently CFO of enterprise technology.

have joined the global leadership team at Condé Nast in the past two years, including CEO Roger Lynch, to whom Marks will directly report. The media conglomerate, that publishes high-profile magazines such as Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair, has found itself in a hotbed of controversies this past year that involved racism displayed by the leadership of some of the publishing group’s biggest brands.

In June, Bon Appétit’s top editor after calls from current and former staffers to step down amid allegations of racial discrimination at the magazine and photos of Rapoport in brownface. This past week, incoming Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue Alexi McCammond also resigned after past tweets of hers that included racist Asian American stereotypes resurfaced.

Condé Nast’s C-suite has additionally undergone some restructuring this past year. In December, famed Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour became the company’s first-ever Chief Content Officer, as part of a wider global strategy announcement.

Lynch said in a press release that Marks’ combined experience in media and journalism will be “a tremendous asset” to bringing worldwide teams at the organization together and alluded that her addition to the company is part of an ongoing “transformation.”

“Condé Nast’s portfolio of brands is unmatched in its influence, scope and reach around the world,” Marks said. “With Roger’s leadership and vision, there is so much opportunity ahead and I’m very much looking forward to being part of this team.”
